QA engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications through careful testing, defect identification, and close collaboration with developers.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, hands-on experience with manual testing and test case preparation, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. What You'll Do

• Create clear, structured test cases based on product requirements and expected system behavior.
• Execute manual tests across software applications to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Identify, document, and help track defects discovered during testing activities.
• Work closely with developers to communicate issues, clarify expected outcomes, and support timely resolution of defects.
• Review application behavior in detail to ensure releases meet quality expectations before delivery.
• Contribute to day-to-day quality assurance activities that support the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the overall quality of software applications through consistent and thorough testing practices.
• Maintain a high standard of reliability and performance by validating application behavior against requirements.
• Take ownership of preparing and organizing test cases that support effective coverage of key product functionality.
• Support defect management by accurately identifying issues and communicating them to the development team.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies.
• Experience with manual testing and test case preparation.
• Knowledge of API testing is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with attention to detail and maintain a quality-focused approach.
