About the Role

We are looking for a QA Engineer (Research) with a PhD in Computer Science or a related field to join our Quality Engineering department. This is a full-time position with flexible work arrangements, open to candidates who are located in a city, working remotely, or in a hybrid setup. You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced testing strategies and automation frameworks to ensure the highest quality and reliability of our software products. The role involves research-driven QA, collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated test suites for software products
• Build, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for user interface (UI), application programming interface (API), and performance testing
• Apply advanced QA techniques such as model-based testing, fuzz testing, and AI-assisted test generation
• Analyze software defects, identify root causes, and contribute to ongoing quality improvements
• Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, support teams, and Hindi-speaking stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage
• Prepare clear and thorough test documentation and reports in both English and Hindi
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers to foster their professional development

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end test strategy, including design, execution, and maintenance of test plans and automation frameworks
• Lead initiatives to research and implement advanced software testing methodologies
• Take accountability for defect analysis and driving effective root cause resolution
• Champion the integration of automated tests within CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance
• Ensure alignment with product requirements and effective communication with cross-functional teams
• Maintain high standards in test documentation, reporting, and communication in both English and Hindi
• Support the professional growth of junior QA engineers through mentoring and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
• Proficiency in Hindi (speaking, reading, and writing), along with professional proficiency in English
• Extensive experience in test automation using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with API testing tools (such as Postman, REST Assured) and performance testing tools (such as JMeter, k6)
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile methodologies
• Demonstrated research output such as publications or patents in software testing, verification, or quality-related domains

Nice to Have

• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of security testing practices and accessibility testing methodologies
• Experience with Hindi or multilingual localization testing for software products
• ISTQB certification or other relevant QA credentials
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
• Experience collaborating in diverse, multilingual teams
